Footbridge Closure
The replacement process has started and M-NCPPC anticipates an early summer installation.
Due to te deterioration of structural members, a footbridge along the Northeast Branch stream that links Riverdale Road and Powhatan Road has been closed by the M-NCPPC Department of Parks and Recreation (DPR). Sidewalks and low-traffic streets along Riverdale Road and 54th Avenue are available as an alternative route for cyclists and pedestrians. DPR maintenance staff are determining an appropriate course of action--repair or replacement--and will announce a timetable when available.
