TREE AND LANDSCAPE MAINTENANCE
The Department of Public Works maintains the Town's urban forest by pruning, planting and removing trees as necessary. The Town continues its partnership with the Maryland Urban and Community Forest Committee and the Maryland DNR Forest Service, by participating in its People Loving and Nurturing Trees (P.L.A.N.T.) Community Awards Program. Annual flower rotations are installed and maintained throughout the town.
The Department of Public Works is also responsible for maintaining all of the Town's streets by installing/repairing street signs and streetlights, painting crosswalks, repairing potholes, emptying/replacing corner cans and regularly using the mechanical Street Sweeper to assure that our community remains litter-free.
